The Framework provides : a brief contextual background of information literacy ; a description of the benefits to both organisations and individuals of information literacy ; a definition of the concept ; a simplified model of the information literacy process ; and, practical demonstrations of the application of the information literacy process in four different contexts. The Framework is currently in a draft form and is expected to evolve in response to comments and suggestions from readers.
Trata desde los conceptos de competencia en general hasta la competencia informativa (information literacy) y la competencia mediatica ( media literacy). Presenta llos principios de la aprendizaje significativa y lo uso de mapas conceptuales, mentales y webmaps como metodologías de apoyo al desarrollo de las habilidades informativas . Es una contribución que trata de la búsqueda de la reflexión en esta area emergente en Brasil y que necesita de una basis teórica y investigaciones científicas que puedan establecer interaciones mientras en las áreas de información, comunicación y educación.
