Desde el blog se proponen temas y actividades para descubrir nuevas formas en la gestión de información de carácter personal y profesional en un entorno virtual, participativo y colaborativo. En esta oportunidad los contenidos se refieren al uso de marcadores sociales, utilizando los servicios de Delicious para gestionar colecciones de enlaces en un entorno colaborativo.

Information overload? Irrelevant search results? Sounds familiar? This course aims to equip participants with the searching skills and techniques on how to use the Internet more efficiently to get quality websites. Using a hands-on approach, participants will learn how to formulate search strategies, evaluate websites and cite the websites used using appropriate citation styles.
This course is specially designed for teachers who wish to learn how to use the Internet as an effective research tool more effectively. Participants will be introduced to advanced search techniques to retrieve relevant websites efficiently. Participants will also learn to apply evaluation criteria to ascertain authoritativeness of information from websites. The importance of citing and acknowledging resources using appropriate techniques is also included to help participants avoid the dangers of plagiarism.
To equip teachers with the knowledge and skills in planning integrated learning experience for their students through Project Work. By the end of the course, teachers will receive a toolkit to assist them in guiding students during the information-gathering phase of Project Work.

La propuesta aborda la necesidad de profundizar el uso eficaz del catálogo en línea por parte de nuestros usuarios. Asimismo, se plantea como punto inicial en el proceso de búsqueda bibliográfica y de información en general, complementando el conocimiento y acceso a diferentes recursos en línea. En este sentido, se publican artículos en el blog relacionados con diferentes sitios web. Además de dar visibilidad a estos recursos se plantea la posibilidad de aprender a utilizarlos. El blog se ofrece como complemento y recurso didáctico de la clase presencial sobre el uso del catálogo en línea.
Plan de formación que cuenta con tres niveles: básico, medio y avanzado y sesiones libres de acuerdo a las necesidades que se requieran.
At this workshop they will discuss and share experiences on information literacy learning and teaching, strategies, evaluation, implementation and current issues.
Librarians teach five workshops in room 414 of the Rosenberg Library, Phelan campus. The Workshop schedule is available at the Reference Desk West. Workshops A, B, C and W are fifty minutes long and D is 90 minutes. Most of these workshops are offered nearly every week of the semester. A written assignment is distributed at each workshop. A student may obtain a proof of attendance slip by completing the assignment and turning it in at either Reference Desk for correction.

The Workshop will include class exercises and small group work, and will be facilitated by expert presenters. A Certificate of Completion will be awarded to workshop graduates who successfully complete the workshop. School and university librarians, teachers and faculty, school principals and other administrators who are involved and/or in charge of developing and delivering information literacy instruction and pedagogical development are invited to apply. A maximum of 50 participants will be accepted to the workshop mainly from the Caspian and Black Sea neighboring countries, Southwestern Asian, and Eastern European/Balkan countries
